Virginia is the daughter of Craig and Terry Gilchrist.

Gilchrist has been accepted to Saint Mary’s College of California in Moraga, where she plans to major in English with a French minor.

The $2,500 scholarship, in honor of Archbishop Donoghue, is awarded to one outstanding Catholic high school senior residing in the 69 counties that make up the Archdiocese of Atlanta. Selection is based on academic accomplishments, leadership and participation in both school and community activities, and an essay.
