In its worst loss of the baseball season, Pinecrest Academy was shut out by Dominion Christian High School of Marietta, 24-0, April 17. Dominion Christian, undefeated with an overall record of 18-0, scored 13 runs in the first inning. If there’s any consolation for Pinecrest, the following day in major league baseball the Cleveland Indians scored 14 runs in the second inning against the New York Yankees.

Pinecrest sophomore starting second baseman Jonathan Oshinski said, “We don’t want to forget about a 24-0 loss, but we want to move beyond this.”

Coaches and players were in agreement that the game should be a motivating factor for going out to fix the problems and bringing a renewed attitude to the field so they can improve their execution in the games to come. Pinecrest (2-4) travels to Conyers to face Young Americans Christian School (1-6), Friday, April 24.
