Cathedral Players To Present Musical Favorite

Published April 16, 2009

The Cathedral Players dedicate these performances to honor the memory of the parish’s beloved Msgr. Thomas Kenny who supported the theater ministry from its inception. He backed both the concept and the outreach of the theater ministry. Over 150 parishioners work on each production including actors, musicians, stage crew, set builders and painters, designers, lighting and sound assistants, costumers, seamstresses, ad sales staff, box office staff, ushers and administrative help. They provide wholesome entertainment for families in the community, benefit Buckhead Christian Ministries and showcase the talents of parishioners.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children and seniors. Tickets are available from cast members or at the door.

The four evening performances will be at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 24, Saturday, April 25, Friday, May 1, and Saturday, May 2. Each weekend will have one 2 p.m. matinee—on Sunday, April 26, and Saturday, May 2.

All money raised will benefit Buckhead Christian Ministries, which provides emergency assistance to the working poor. Sponsored by Christ The King and Holy Spirit Church, as well as nine other area churches, BCM offers transitional housing, emergency financial help and educational programs that develop money management skills to those in need. They also sponsor Buckhead Thriftique on Piedmont Road, which sells gently used clothing and household goods to the community.
