Annual Festival Draws Over 100 Musical Students
Published April 30, 2009
The festival included a full day of workshops beginning at 9 a.m. Students practiced music at their home schools and then came together into three different groups to work with guest music instructors, who directed the choral group, beginning band and advanced band. A concert performed by all three groups was presented at the end of the afternoon in Marist Hall, followed by a closing Mass for students, teachers and parents.
Band director Dan Martin and Freddy Martin worked with the beginning and advanced bands, respectively. Dr. Patrick Freer, assistant professor of choral music education at Georgia State University, was the guest choral conductor.
