Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory is resting comfortably at home after a “mini lap” procedure for early stage prostate cancer, the Communications Office of the archdiocese announced Nov. 9.

The report included a statement from the archbishop’s doctor, Dr. Fray Marshall.

“Archbishop Gregory tolerated the procedure well, and there were no unforeseen problems. He received a favorable pathology report today,” Dr. Marshall said. “It was a pleasure for me and for the caregivers at Emory University Hospital to care for Archbishop Gregory. He is good to all the people around him.”

At home, Archbishop Gregory is walking and working on the computer. He will take the next several weeks to recuperate. He said, “From the heart, I am deeply grateful for the outpouring of love through prayers and good wishes for my healing. Please be assured of my prayers for you.”
