Track Meet Runs The Course For Hunger

Track and field athletes from Blessed Trinity High School, Roswell, Marist School, Atlanta, Our Lady of Mercy High School, Fairburn, and St. Pius X High School, Atlanta, came together for the second annual Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory Invitational Track Meet, Feb. 24.

The St. Vincent de Paul Society sponsors the meet, and the more than 500 cans of food donated by athletes and spectators will go to fight hunger in Georgia. The meet was hosted by defending champions St. Pius X at George B. Maloof Stadium.

Blessed Trinity High School took home the team trophy this year after amassing 347 points. St. Pius X finished in second place with 306 points. Marist and Our Lady of Mercy finished in third and fourth place respectively. The following varsity participants were singled out for individual achievement: Best Male Athlete, Antonio McKay, St. Pius X; Best Female Athlete, Margy Coleman, Blessed Trinity; Outstanding Field Athlete, Evan Shuttlesworth, Marist; and Best Overall Athlete, Raven Moore, Our Lady of Mercy.
