St. Pius X To Hold Christmas Tournament

St. Pius X High School will hold its seventh annual “Christmas Classic Basketball Tournament” Dec. 27 to 29 with eight boys and eight girls varsity basketball teams from around the country participating.

Boys teams participating in this year’s tournament are: St. Pius X High School, Atlanta; Brother Martin High School, New Orleans; Archbishop Alter High School, Kettering, Ohio; Belen Jesuit High School, Miami; Bishop Kenny High School, Jacksonville, Fla.; Bishop Verot High School, Fort Myers, Fla.; Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School, Pittsburgh; and Santa Fe Catholic High School, Lakeland, Fla.

Girls teams participating are: Bishop Guertin High School, Nashua, N.H.; Bishop Kenny High School, Jacksonville, Fla.; Bishop Verot High School, Fort Myers, Fla.; McAuley High School, Cincinnati; Mercy High School, Omaha, Neb.; Mother of Mercy High School, Cincinnati; Notre Dame Academy, Covington, Ky.; and St. Vincent Pallotti High School, Laurel, Md.

Games have start times of 2 p.m. through 8 p.m. each day. The Monsignor Lopez Championship Trophy will be awarded to the winning boys and girls teams of the tournament immediately following the final game on Dec. 29. Tickets will be sold at the door for $5.
