Atlanta Boy Choir To Sing At Monastery

Published November 9, 2006

A Christmas concert with the Atlanta Boy Choir will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m. at the Monastery of Our Lady of the Holy Spirit, 2625 Highway 212, SW.

Founded in 1957, the Atlanta Boy Choir has performed in many of the world’s great cathedrals and concert halls across North America and Europe, including at the Vatican. David R. White directs the choir.

“Christmas with the Atlanta Boy Choir” at the monastery has been a local tradition for the past 27 years. This year’s concert will feature selections from the beautiful “Christmas Oratorio” by J.S. Bach. The choir will also sing many traditional carols and songs of the season, and as is customary, there will be an opportunity for the audience to sing along. A reception will follow.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $12 for children 15 and younger. There is open seating. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Proceeds support the outreach of the Monastery Food Bank.

Tickets may be ordered online at www.trappist.net/tickets for a $1 service charge or purchased by phone at (678) 964-2237. Tickets are also available at the Abbey Store at the monastery. Call (770) 483-8705 or visit www.trappist.net for directions and information.
