St Peter’s Offers Women’s Day Of Reflection

Published October 5, 2006

All women of the archdiocese are invited to St. Peter’s Church for a Women’s Day of Reflection on Saturday, Oct. 14. The day will begin with Mass at 9 a.m. and end at 6 p.m.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Kathleen M. Raviele, a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist in private practice in the Atlanta area for 22 years. She is vice-president of the Catholic Medical Association and has appeared on EWTN several times as well as on the “Living His Life Abundantly” radio show. She is on the board of directors of Georgia Right to Life and testifies regularly for pro-life legislation for the state of Georgia. She is a regular columnist for Canticle magazine on women’s health issues. She applies the teaching of the church and Pope John Paul II’s “theology of the body” in her practice of medicine. She has been married for 32 years and has two adult children.

A member of St. Stephen the Martyr Parish in Lilburn, Raviele speaks at marriage preparation programs for the archdiocese on natural family planning and teaches couples the Marquette method of natural family planning.

Included in the day will be two videos, one from Father John Corapi and one from Scott Hahn, Ph.D., as well as two presentations by Raviele with question and answer sessions to follow. Concluding the day will be the rosary and an opportunity for the sacrament of reconciliation.

All women are asked to bring a brown bag lunch, and drinks will be provided. Lunchtime entertainment will be a Christian-based fashion show provided by the youth of St. Peter’s.

Although there is no charge, reservations are requested. Call Diane Awtrey at (706) 882-1948 or Molly Gamblin at (706) 883-6162. The church is located at 200 LaFayette Parkway, LaGrange.
