Archbishop Announces New Priest Assignments

Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory has announced the following priest assignments. The assignments are effective June 15, 2006.

First Assignment As Pastor

Father Robert Frederick Jr., parochial vicar at St. Pius X Church, Conyers, has been assigned as pastor of St. Luke the Evangelist Church, Dahlonega. This is his first assignment as a pastor.

Pastor Assignments

Father John Conway, pastor of St. Joseph Church, Washington, and administrator of St. Mary Mission, Elberton, and Purification Station, Sharon, has been assigned as pastor of St. Anthony Church, Blue Ridge.

Father John Durkin Jr., chaplain at St. Pius X High School, Atlanta, has been assigned as pastor of St. Monica Church, Duluth.

Father Gregory Goolsby, pastor of St. Monica Church, Duluth, has been assigned as pastor of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Alpharetta. He succeeds Msgr. David Talley, who will be accepting an assignment at a parish in Columbus, Ga., in the Diocese of Savannah, in order to be able to assist his family there.

Father Christopher Williamson, pastor of St. Anthony Church, Blue Ridge, and administrator of Good Samaritan Mission, Ellijay, has been assigned as pastor of St. Joseph Church, Washington, and as administrator at St. Mary Mission, Elberton, and Purification Station, Sharon.

Administrator Assignments

Msgr. Stephen Churchwell, pastor of St. Luke the Evangelist Church, Dahlonega, and administrator of Christ Redeemer Mission, Dawsonville, has been assigned as full-time administrator of Christ Redeemer Mission.

Father Randall Mattox, parochial vicar at Holy Family Church, Marietta, has been assigned as administrator of Good Samaritan Mission, Ellijay.

Chaplain Assignments

Father Theodore Book, parochial vicar at St. Brigid Church, Alpharetta, has been assigned as chaplain at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home, Atlanta. He will also assist in celebrating the Spanish Mass at Transfiguration Church, Marietta, and assume responsibilities for liturgical services in the Archdiocese of Atlanta.

Father John Shramko, parochial vicar at St. Peter Chanel Church, Roswell, has been assigned as chaplain at St. Pius X High School, Atlanta.

Father Bryan Small, parochial vicar at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Kennesaw, has been assigned as chaplain at the University Catholic Center at Emory University, Atlanta, and Agnes Scott College, Decatur.

Education

Father Tim Hepburn, chaplain at the University Catholic Center at Emory University, Atlanta, and Agnes Scott College, Decatur, will pursue a licentiate in sacred theology at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit.

Associate Priest Assignment

Father Arcangel Cardenas-Martinez, parochial vicar at St. Brendan the Navigator Church, Cumming, who has also been serving part time at Our Lady of the Americas Mission, Doraville, has been assigned as a full-time associate priest at Our Lady of the Americas Mission.

Parochial Vicar Assignments

Father William Canales, residing at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Carrollton, has been assigned as parochial vicar at St. Michael Church, Gainesville.

Father Terence Crone, parochial vicar at St. James the Apostle Church, McDonough, has been assigned as parochial vicar at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Kennesaw.

Father Anthony Curran, chaplain at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home, Atlanta, has been assigned as parochial vicar at St. Brigid Church, Alpharetta.

Father John Paul Ezeonyido, parochial vicar at Holy Cross Church, Atlanta, has been assigned as parochial vicar at Holy Trinity Church, Peachtree City.

Father Joseph Fahy, CP, serving the Office of Hispanic Ministry and residing at St. Lawrence Church, Lawrenceville, has been assigned as parochial vicar at St. Paul of the Cross Church, Atlanta, with residence at St. Paul of the Cross Church.

Father Darragh Griffith, parochial vicar at the Cathedral of Christ the King, Atlanta, has been assigned as parochial vicar at St. James the Apostle Church, McDonough.

Father Diosmar Natad, parochial vicar at Holy Trinity Church, Peachtree City, has been assigned as parochial vicar at Transfiguration Church, Marietta.

Father Jose Refugio Onate Melendez, parochial vicar at St. Joseph Church, Dalton, has been assigned as parochial vicar at St. Joseph Church, Athens.

Father Hernan Quevedo Rodriquez, parochial vicar at St. John Neumann Church, Lilburn, has been assigned as parochial vicar at St. John the Evangelist Church, Hapeville. He will also provide assistance with the Spanish Mass at St. Matthew Church, Tyrone.

Father Dayro Antonio Rico, parochial vicar at St. Joseph Church, Athens, has been assigned as parochial vicar at St. Joseph Church, Dalton.

Father Fernando Ruge Garcia, parochial vicar at Transfiguration Church, Marietta, has been assigned as parochial vicar at St. Benedict Church, Duluth.

Additional Assignments

Father Paul Burke, chaplain at Our Lady of Mercy High School, Fairburn, will also serve part time with the Marriage Tribunal.

Father Mario Saul Pino, parochial vicar at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Woodstock, has also been assigned to celebrate the Spanish Mass at Our Lady of LaSalette Church, Canton.

Change In Residence

Father Augustine Tran, teacher at Blessed Trinity High School, Roswell, will be in residence at St. Peter Chanel Church, Roswell.
