Scouting Day Of Reflection Planned

Published August 18, 2005

All Catholic Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, sixth grade and up, and adult Scouts are invited to attend a Day of Reflection on the Eucharist on Saturday, Aug. 27, at St. Brendan Church, Cumming. Sponsored by the Atlanta Archdiocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting, the day will begin at 11 a.m. and conclude with the celebration of Mass at 5 p.m. at St. Brendan.

The cost for the day is $10, which covers lunch, handouts, snack and a certificate.

In addition to the Scouts program, Religious Emblem Counselor training will be available for those adults who wish to become a counselor and are unable to attend the training session on Aug. 13. Everyone must attend training before they can work with the boys or girls.

Those participating in the Day of Reflection will complete one of the requirements for the Ad Altare Dei Religious Emblem for the boys and one of the requirements for the Pope Paul VI Unit Award.

The church is located at 4633 Shiloh Road, Cumming.
