Noted Singer/Songwriter To Perform At CTK

Published August 4, 2005

Canadian singer/songwriter and Catholic missionary Mark Mallett will perform Aug. 22 at the Cathedral of Christ the King at 7 p.m.

Currently on a summer-long, cross-continental tour, Mallett has recently released his fourth album, a long-awaited worship CD, “Let the Lord Know.” Rich with 16 original songs that can be sung at Mass, worship services, adoration or private devotion, it is Mallet’s personal response to the Year of the Eucharist set forth by Pope John Paul II.

Mallett has received three national awards and multiple nominations to date for his recordings. His devotional album entitled “Through Her Eyes: A Journey to Jesus” was released at the same time as Mel Gibson’s blockbuster “The Passion of the Christ” last year.

Inspired by his deeply rooted Catholic faith, Mallett tours extensively throughout North America in response to a call from the Lord to use music to evangelize and spread the Gospel message. A dynamic entertainer with a powerful message and music to both soothe and invigorate the soul, Mallett performs his own material and keeps audiences on their toes with his rich melodies, compelling message, spirited sense of humor and keen wit.

Advance tickets for the Aug. 22 concert are $10 per person; admission the day of the concert is $15. Families of four or more are $35. Children 8 and under are free. A nursery will be available upon request.

Tickets are available after all Masses at the Cathedral the weekends of Aug. 13 and 20 or may be purchased through the mail via check. Checks should be written to Mark Mallett and envelopes addressed to the Cathedral of Christ the King, 2699 Peachtree Road, NE, Atlanta, GA 30305, Attn. Mark Mallett Concert Tickets.

Tickets can also be purchased at the Notre Dame Book Shop, located at 5273 Buford Highway, Doraville.
