Art Auction To Benefit Our Lady Of Mercy High School
Published February 10, 2005
For the third year, Our Lady of Mercy High School in Fayette County will host an art exhibition and auction featuring a wide range of art and sculpture. A major fund-raiser for the school, the auction will be held on Saturday evening, Feb. 19, at the school at 7:30 p.m., with a preview at 6:30 p.m. The school’s Bobcat Club, the parent booster club assisting the school in sports and fine arts, sponsors the special benefit.
Lynne Fraas, auction co-chairperson, said excitement was building at the school as the committee finalized details of the art that will be exhibited.
“We will have wonderful and unique art, from Disney prints to African art, and abstract to traditional,” she said, adding prices will range from $35 or $40 to several thousand dollars. Part of the presentation will include sports art and celebrity memorabilia.
“This is a great social event for everyone and it’s always a fun night,” she said.
The art for exhibition and auction is from Regency Fine Art studio in Norcross, she explained, adding that they have a remarkable variety of art and sculpture. The roster of artwork for the OLM benefit includes over 250 fine art prints, oils, landscape design, abstract and traditional, African art, Disney prints, statues, sculpture and collector items.
A special feature of the art auction is the 15-year exchange privilege with Regency, which is said to be popular with guests. Major credit cards are honored for purchases.
A nominal donation of $5 to OLM per ticket entitles guests to complimentary hors d’oeuvres, a wine cash bar and hourly door prizes. The social hour will occur one hour prior to the 7:30 p.m. auction. A bonus “next day sale” will be held on Sunday, Feb. 20, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the school.
Tickets will be available on Feb. 19 at the door of the school, located at 861 Highway 279 in Fairburn, or by contacting the Bobcat Club Web site at olmbobcats.net or by calling Our Lady of Mercy at (770) 461-2202.
