Senior Priest Retires; First-Time Pastor, New Parochial Vicars Assigned

Archbishop John F. Donoghue has announced the following priest assignments.
PASTOR RETIRES
Msgr. William Hoffman, pastor of St. Joseph Church, Dalton, has been granted retirement, effective June 17. He will be in residence at St. Patrick Church, Norcross.
PASTOR ASSIGNMENTS
Msgr. Hugh Marren, pastor of St. Benedict Church, Duluth, has been assigned as pastor of St. Andrew Church, Roswell, effective June 17.
Father Paul A. Flood, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Woodstock, has been assigned as pastor of St. Benedict Church, Duluth, effective June 17.
Father John M. Murphy, parochial vicar at St. James the Apostle Church, McDonough, has been assigned as pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Decatur, effective June 17.
Father Larry P. Niese, returning from sabbatical in Rome, has been assigned as pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Woodstock, effective June 17.
Father Francis X. Richardson, pastor of St. Andrew Church, Roswell, has been assigned as pastor of Our Lady of the Mountains Mission, Jasper, effective June 17. The mission will be elevated to the status of a parish in June.
FIRST ASSIGNMENT AS PASTOR
Father Jesus David Trujillo-Luna, parochial vicar at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Alpharetta, has been assigned as pastor of St. Joseph Church, Dalton, effective June 17. This is his first assignment as a pastor.
SCHOOL CHAPLAINCY
Father Kevin Peek, pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Decatur, has been assigned as chaplain at Blessed Trinity High School, Roswell, effective June 17. For canonical status, he has also been appointed a parochial vicar at St. Patrick Church, Norcross, where he will be in residence.
CHANGES IN RESIDENCE
Father Timothy Gadziala of the Metropolitan Tribunal will be moving his residence from All Saints Church, Dunwoody, to Nazareth House. He will continue his assignment full-time at the Tribunal and has also been appointed as the rector for Nazareth House, effective June 17. For canonical status, he has been appointed a parochial vicar at Blessed Sacrament Church, Atlanta.
Father Daniel J. Rogaczewski, teacher at St. Pius X High School, Atlanta, will be moving his residence from St. Patrick Church, Norcross, to the old rectory at All Saints Church, Dunwoody, effective June 17. For canonical status, he has been appointed a parochial vicar at All Saints Church.
PAROCHIAL VICAR ASSIGNMENTS
Father Liam Coyne, parochial vicar at Good Shepherd Church, Cumming, has been assigned as a parochial vicar at the Cathedral of Christ the King, Atlanta, effective June 17.
Father Kevin Hargaden, chaplain at Blessed Trinity High School, Roswell, has been assigned as a parochial vicar at St. Lawrence Church, Lawrenceville, effective June 17.
Father Stephen Lyness, who has been on a leave of absence, has been assigned to serve part-time as a parochial vicar at the Cathedral of Christ the King, Atlanta, and also to serve part-time as the chaplain at Georgia State University, Atlanta, effective June 17.
Father Fausto Macquez, new in the archdiocese, has been assigned as a parochial vicar in the archdiocese.
Father Jhon Jairo Mejía, new in the archdiocese, has been assigned as a parochial vicar in the archdiocese.
Father Michael Onyekuru, who recently received his doctorate in canon law in Rome, Italy, has been assigned to serve part-time as a parochial vicar at Good Shepherd Church, Cumming, and also work part-time in the MetropolitanTribunal, effective June 17.
Father Vincent Sullivan, parochial vicar at the Cathedral of Christ the King, Atlanta, has been assigned as a parochial vicar at St. Michael Church, Gainesville, effective June 17.
TRIBUNAL ASSIGNMENT
Father Augustine Hoa Tran, who has been studying at Catholic University of America, has been assigned to the Metropolitan Tribunal effective June 17. For canonical status, he has also been appointed a parochial vicar at St. Benedict Church, Duluth, where he will be in residence.
FIRST ASSIGNMENTS
Rev. Mr. Fabio Alvarez, to be ordained to the priesthood June 5, has been given his first assignment as a parochial vicar at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Alpharetta, effective June 17.
Rev. Mr. Cyril Soo-Gil Chae, to be ordained to the priesthood June 5, has been assigned to residence at Nazareth House, effective June 17. He will attend school to learn English. For canonical status, he has been appointed a parochial vicar at Blessed Sacrament Church, Atlanta
Rev. Mr. Diosmar Natad, to be ordained to the priesthood June 5, will be given his first assignment as a parochial vicar at Holy Trinity Church, Peachtree City, effective June 17.
