STONE MOUNTAIN—The Stone Mountain Community Garden, assisted by members of Corpus Christi Church, Stone Mountain, hit a milestone on Nov. 7: three tons of produce donated to a local food pantry.

Under the watchful eye of Columbus Brown, a master gardener and church parishioner, the garden since 2011 has grown food for the Stone Mountain Cooperative Ecumenical Ministry food pantry.

Brown recently dropped off some 60 pounds of produce, including herbs and vegetables, to tip the scales at three tons.

And it isn’t done yet. The garden is on pace to deliver 1,200 pounds by the end of the year to serve community needs.

The Stone Mountain Community Garden has inspired others to also donate to the food pantry.
