Saint Joseph’s Hospital of Atlanta, in joint sponsorship with the Atlanta Guild of the Catholic Medical Association, is hosting a continuing medical education activity entitled “Nutritional Hydration: The Terry Schiavo Case.”

The conference will be held on Saturday, Feb. 14, in the Saint Joseph’s Hospital Auditorium, and is open to physicians as well as clergy. The speaker will define the ordinary care afforded to a disabled or dying person and the general applications of that care as applied to a medical practice. He will also address specific elements of the Schiavo case.

Mass will be celebrated in the auditorium at Saint Joseph’s Hospital at 6 p.m. with Archbishop John F. Donoghue as the celebrant. Dinner will follow at 7 p.m. and the lecture at 8 p.m. in the Saint Joseph’s Hospital Carroll Conference and Education Center.

This activity is planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Standards of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the Joint Sponsorship of Saint Joseph’s Hospital and the Atlanta Guild of the Catholic Medical Association.

Saint Joseph’s Hospital of Atlanta is accredited by the Medical Association of Georgia to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. Saint Joseph’s Hospital designates this continuing medical education activity for a maximum of 1.0 Category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spends in the activity.

It is the intent of Saint Joseph’s Hospital to assure that its CME activities should not be influenced by the special interests of individuals associated with its activity.
