Transfiguration Church ‘CareerCare’ Helps With Job Transitions

CareerCare is a ministry at Transfiguration Church in Marietta that supports all those who are in career transition either through unemployment, misemployment or a desire to change their current job situation.
Spiritual support and job skills workshops are held on Monday nights and networking group meetings are held on Tuesday mornings. Spiritual support workshops are held from 7-7:30 p.m. each Monday night followed by job search skills workshops with specific topics from 7:30-9 p.m. The networking group meets from 7:30-9 a.m. on Tuesdays. All meetings are held in the adult education/OCI room at the church, 1815 Blackwell Road.
Job skills workshop topics in May and June are:
- Monday, May 2: Networking and power calling—your keys to success;
- Monday, May 9: Selling yourself—improving your sales skills;
- Monday, May 16: How to start your own business;
- Monday, May 23: Guest speaker: Net weaving and Jaws sessions;
- Monday, May 30: Holiday; no meeting; networking group will meet Tuesday, May 31;
- Monday, June 6: How the Internet can help you get your job;
- Monday, June 13: Changing your life through faith;
- Monday, June 20: Volunteer meeting.
