The Polish Catholic Apostolate in the Archdiocese of Atlanta is holding a Lenten mission and special liturgies for Holy Week and Easter in Polish.

The Lenten mission will be presented by Father Piotr Lichacz, OP, at St. Marguerite d’Youville Church, 85 Gloster Road, Lawrenceville, from Friday, March 30, through Sunday, April 1.

On March 30, confessions will start at 7 p.m., followed by the Stations of the Cross at 8 p.m. and then by Mass. On March 31, confessions will start at 7 p.m., followed by Mass at 8 p.m. On April 1, confessions will start at 1 p.m. Lenten Lamentation will be at 1:45 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at St. Marguerite d’Youville Church at 2 p.m. and at Mary Our Queen Church, 6260 The Corners Parkway, Norcross, at 4:30 p.m.

Father Janusz Zych, S.Ch., celebrates Mass in Polish every Sunday at 2 p.m. at St. Marguerite d’Youville Church and an additional Mass on the first and second Sunday of the month at 4:30 p.m. at Mary Our Queen Church.

For Holy Week the liturgies in Polish will be celebrated at St. Marguerite d’Youville Church. On Holy Thursday, April 5, the Mass of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated at 8:30 p.m.

On Good Friday, April 6, the Stations of the Cross and the Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion will be celebrated at 8:30 p.m.

On Holy Saturday, April 7, the traditional Blessing of the Food will take place at 10 a.m. at Mary Our Queen Church in Norcross and at 1 p.m. at St. Marguerite d’Youville Church in Lawrenceville. Parishioners and visitors are asked to leave baskets with food and “pisanki” on the altar steps. Everyone is welcome.

The Liturgy of the Easter Vigil will be celebrated at 8:30 p.m. with the Polish community joining the entire St. Marguerite d’Youville Church community.

On Easter Sunday, April 8, Mass in Polish will be celebrated at 2 p.m. at St. Marguerite d’Youville Church. There will be no Mass in Polish at Mary Our Queen Church on Easter Sunday.
