Kindergarteners at St. Catherine of Siena School celebrated Mardi Gras by holding their annual bake sale to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House of Atlanta.

The youngsters worked along aside parents at home to design posters and home-baked goodies, from multi-colored Filipino rice balls and Venezuelan sugar cookies to homemade challah bread and brownies, and cookies.

On Feb. 24, the kindergarten students opened their store in the school cafeteria for two hours. Fellow students swapped coins and cash for the yummy treats.

Teaming up with their eighth-grade buddies, the young students practiced their math skills: recognizing different coins, calculating costs and making change.

The Ronald McDonald House received more than $200 from the sale of the popular Mardi Gras treats.
