Mondays, Oct. 20, Nov. 17 and Dec. 15; 7 p.m.; St. John Vianney Church, 1920 Skyview Drive, Lithia Springs. Special Needs Support Group is a new and growing ministry at the church. Meetings welcome individuals and families who love and care for someone with special needs. The meetings offer information and support to families and parents. Childcare is provided. Meetings are bilingual (English and Spanish) and cover many helpful subjects. Topics have included: after high school care, IEPs, newly diagnosed individuals, school system support, wills and trusts and Mass with special needs little ones. A theme is offered to start the meeting, and the conversation shifts to a question-and-answer session with a professional presenter on the agenda each night. The knowledge and support of fellow parents is invaluable. St. John Vianney offers a safe and accepting space to talk about hard things. All are welcome to attend.
