Parishes announces eucharistic processions for Feast of Corpus Christi

ATLANTA—Throughout the Archdiocese of Atlanta, churches will launch the local celebration of the National Eucharistic Revival with eucharistic processions, adoration and Masses on the weekend of Sunday, June 11—the Feast of Corpus Christi.

“This archdiocese has a beautiful history of devotion to the Eucharist in our parishes and in our past Eucharistic Congresses,” said Archbishop Gregory J. Hartmayer, OFM Conv.

The following parishes have announced processions and related activities:

CTK DAY TO ADORE: Thu, June 8; 6 p.m. eucharistic procession; 7 p.m. bilingual Mass; Cathedral of Christ the King, 2699 Peachtree Road, NE, Atlanta. The Day to Adore celebrates Corpus Christi and 29 years of perpetual adoration. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed in the cathedral immediately following the 8:10 a.m. Mass and remain there except for a brief period when reposed during the 12:10 p.m. Mass. At 6 p.m., there will be a procession around the perimeter of the cathedral campus (Peachtree Road to East Wesley Road to Peachtree Way) followed by Benediction and a bilingual Mass at 7 p.m. A reception will follow in Kenny Hall to celebrate the 29th anniversary. ST. CATHERINE OF SIENA PROCESSION: Fri, June 9, 7-8 p.m.; St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1618 Ben King Road, Kennesaw. The eucharistic procession will make its way around the perimeter of the church’s campus. Contact: Jeremy Johnston at jeremyj@stcatherinercc.org.

HOLY TRINITY PROCESSION: Fri, June 9; 6:30 p.m. Mass with procession to follow; Holy Trinity Church, 101 Walt Banks Rd, Peachtree City. Mass is bilingual. Procession will include a rosary and will be in the church’s parking lot. Adoration will continue until 11 p.m. at the church.

OUR LADY OF THE MOUNTAINS PROCESSION: Sun, June 11, following the 11 a.m. Mass. Procession on church grounds, 1908 Waleska Highway 108, Jasper.

CHRIST OUR HOPE PROCESSION: Sun, June 11, following 10 a.m. Mass. 1786 Wellborn Rd., Lithonia. Bishop Joel M. Konzen, SM, will celebrate the confirmation Mass at the parish to be followed by a eucharistic procession. The bishop will participate in the procession. 

ST. MARK’S EUCHARISTIC PROCESSION: Sun, June 11; 10 a.m. St. Mark’s Church, 5410 GA-197, Clarkesville. The procession for the Feast of Corpus Christi will gather at the Ingles Market in Clarkesville beginning at 9 a.m. The procession begins at 10 a.m. and will make its way to the church, to be followed by a bilingual Mass and parish picnic afterward. Drivers will drop off participants at the market. Then, drivers can park at the church and shuttle back to the store. ST. JUDE THE APOSTLE EUCHARISTIC PROCESSION: Sun, June 11; 9:50 a.m. St. Jude the Apostle Church, 7171 Glenridge Dr, NE, Atlanta. The procession will begin on the lawn of the rectory prior to the 10 a.m. Mass. Contact: Julie Smith at jsmith@judeatl.com.

ST. ANN EUCHARISTIC PROCESSION: Sun, June 11; 12:30 p.m.; St. Ann Church, 4905 Roswell Rd, Marietta. The 12:30 p.m. Sunday Mass will include a procession and adoration. Contact: https://st-ann.org.

ST. PAUL OF THE CROSS PROCESSION: Sun, June 11; Outdoor Mass at 11 a.m. Procession at 12:15 p.m. St. Paul of the Cross Church, 551 Harwell Rd, NW, Atlanta. The procession follows Mass. Contact: email Audree at dree24@gmail.com.

ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI PROCESSION: Sun, June 11; following 8:30 a.m. Mass. St. Francis of Assisi Church, 3717 Hwy. 515 E, Blairsville. The half-hour procession will take place on the church property. Contact: Linda McKnight at 706-745-6400.

ST. BRENDAN THE NAVIGATOR PROCESSION: Sat, June 10 and Sun, June 11. The parish, located at 4633 Shiloh Rd, Cumming, will have processions before the end of its weekend Masses with solemn blessings at the end of Mass with incense. ST. LUKE THE EVANGELIST CORPUS CHRISTI DAY: Sun, June 11. Procession following 10:45 a.m. Mass. The church, located at 91 N Park St., Dahlonega, will have a procession covering the two city blocks around the church. Event will happen rain or shine. ST. OLIVER PLUNKETT PROCESSION: Sat, June 10. Procession following 5 p.m. bilingual Mass on the church property, 3200 Brooks Dr., Snellville. Contact: Kathy at the parish office, 770-979-2500, ext. 30.

OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP PROCESSION: Sun, June 11 at Adamson Square in downtown Carrollton. Pilgrims will gather at the amphitheater at 5:30 p.m. https://www.olphcc.org/ The site includes plans for inclement weather, and parking details. ST. AELRED CATHOLIC CHURCH PROCESSION: Sun., June 11. Masses are at 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. at the church, located at 4951 Macon Highway in Bishop. Bishop Steven J. Lopes, of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter (the American Ordinariate) will visit St. Aelred Catholic Church for the Solemnity of Corpus Christi. The 10:45 a.m. Mass will be followed by a eucharistic procession throughout town “with thurifers, crucifer, color guard from Knights of the Columbus, servers a full choir, and the People of God,” said Father Gregory Tipton.
