GREENSBORO–The Knights of Columbus Council #13808 from Christ Our King and Savior Church held its 2022-2023 officer installation ceremony on July 9.

Officiating was Joe Kump III, the Georgia state district deputy. During his remarks, Grand Knight Chris Wolf recognized the outstanding service of all the council members in helping to accomplish the many charity fundraising events of the past year. Wolf said he is looking forward to the new year and working together with council members to help those in need in the parish and community the council serves.

This year’s Family of the Year was awarded to James and Celeste Pressley, along with their five children–Emma, Samantha, Annie, Beau and Gaby–for their work in helping those whose lives were devastated by Hurricane Ida in Louisiana. They organized food and supplies drives, work parties, raised money and spent long hours raising support for the affected neighborhoods.

Michael Topper was honored as the Knight of the Year for his outstanding leadership in supporting the efforts of the council on a number of successful service projects by assisting the chairmen of those activities. His contributions were key to the council’s successful year.

The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic fraternal organization with more than 1.9 million members. The Pope John Paul II Council located at Christ Our King and Savior Church has 179 members and serves Greene, Putnam and Hancock counties. For information, please visit www.knights-13808.org.
