James was nominated by the Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Society and Martin by the university’s visitors center.

James and Martin were chosen from 220 nominees.

The Homecoming King and Queen were announced at halftime of the Bulldogs’ Homecoming football game on Oct. 15 versus Vanderbilt.

At St. Pius High School, James and Martin helped pioneer the pre-game videos for the football team. Martin started the filming, but James narrated the videos. Their work began the tradition of showing the videos to the student body during lunch and to the team before kick-off.

Both men are involved in the production of videos for the Bulldog football team with Martin selecting the footage and music as well as writing the script narrated by James. The trailers are “hype videos” shown to the team prior to games and also available to the public online. Martin’s reputation has allowed him full autonomy when making the films.

James, a senior, is an electrical engineering major, president of the Engineers Without Borders and earned an honorable mention for the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship this year, according to the college’s engineering website.

Martin, also a senior, is majoring in Entertainment Media in the Grady School of Journalism.
