Atlanta chancellor takes on national diaconate board role

HOUSTON—The National Association of Diaconate Directors installed new officers and board members as part of its annual meeting on April 15 in Houston, Texas. Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, archbishop of the Galveston-Houston Archdiocese, conducted the installation ceremony.
The 2016 NADD Convention carried the theme, “Deacon: Servant Leader in a Servant Church.” NADD members from the U.S. and Canada attended the convention held in Houston. Events included the election of officers, liturgies, meetings, presentations and workshops. The NADD convention is held annually to provide educational and networking opportunities for its members.
The 14 regional representatives serving NADD as board members include Deacon Dennis Dorner, chancellor of the Archdiocese of Atlanta.
NADD serves formation directors, deacon directors, vicars for deacons and other diocesan personnel who are responsible to their bishops for the formation of deacon candidates and the continued professional development and education of deacons following ordination.
