Published November 22, 2013

Msgr. Dan Stack, pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Cartersville, will be packing his suitcase soon.

He’ll represent the Atlanta Archdiocese at the Fourth American Missionary Congress being held in Maracaibo, Venezuela, from Nov. 26 to Dec. 1.

Its theme is “Missionary disciples of Jesus Christ in a secular and multicultural world,” with the slogan, “Missionary America, share your faith.”

According to the organizer’s website, the aim of these meetings is to strengthen commitment among bishops, diocesan clergy, seminaries, missionary institutions and laity in order to project beyond their own frontiers and take the Gospel “to all the nations.”

Also attending the event is Cardinal Fernando Filoni, prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, as the special envoy of Pope Francis to the celebration of the Fourth American Missionary Congress.
