Father Frank McNamee, rector of the Cathedral of Christ the King, recently received a Certificate of Commendation from Buckhead Coalition President Sam Massell.
The recognition was given for the Cathedral’s 75th anniversary.
Massell, a former Atlanta mayor who lives across Peachtree Road from the church complex, praised the parishioners for being such good neighbors. The award also acknowledges the congregation’s general civic contributions.
The Buckhead neighborhood has some of the largest churches in the country, as well as some of the oldest in the state. Some 34 houses of worship, representing 16 denominations, call the neighborhood home, according to the organization.
