Eagle Scout Helps His Lilburn Parish
Published December 6, 2012
Eagle Scout Corey Taylor earned the highest rank in Boy Scouts this summer by helping St. Stephen the Martyr Church, Lilburn, as the parish reconstructed its gazebo.
The goal was to replace the existing gazebo, which was in a woodsy area on the church property and used by people without church permission, with one that was more inviting. One request completed was to put in new flooring; the project included a new paint job and planting decorative bushes around the gazebo. Now the gazebo is used for any activity organized by parishioners.
A total of 23 volunteers helped with the construction, including Snellville Troop 65 Boy Scouts, friends and family, said Taylor.
