Frank Mulcahy, the executive director of the Georgia Catholic Conference, was recently appointed to the board of Catholic Legal Immigration Network.
He’ll see a friendly face sitting around the table at the next board meeting. Bishop Luis R. Zarama, of Atlanta, also is a director of the nonprofit.
The board is required to have a majority of bishops, so Mulcahy will be one of eight lay members, including religious sisters.
Ethel Higgins was recently selected as the first chairperson of the Racial Equality and Diversity Section for Catholic Charities USA.
At Catholic Charities Atlanta, Higgins is the director for basic needs and also disaster preparedness and response.
