Seven men were admitted to candidacy at St.Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, Pa., on Nov. 26. Presiding at the Mass was Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory.

Among the seven candidates was Atlantan Luis Alvarez, the son of Luis Alvarez and Carmen Velazquez of Caguas, Puerto Rico. He is a 2001 graduate of Croem High School in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. He also studied electrical engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
