Published December 20, 2012

Julia Neppl, a senior at Blessed Trinity High School in Roswell, signed a letter of intent to join the team at Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. She is the daughter of Jeff and Susan Neppl of Johns Creek.

Neppl rows for the St. Andrew Rowing Club, which trains on the Chattahoochee River. She rowed twice at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, finishing 13th out of 85 boats in 2011. She has competed in both the US Youth Nationals and US Club Nationals.

Away from the water, Neppl has been a teen mentor teaching religious education to special needs children for four years. She is a member of the National Honor Society.  She attends St. Brigid Church.

Neppl’s signing continues a tradition of St. Andrew members who row at some of the most respected collegiate programs in the country.
