Young Adult Lent Series ‘Holy Grounds’ Underway
Published March 1, 2012
The Office of Formation and Discipleship of the Archdiocese of Atlanta is sponsoring its annual Holy Grounds Lenten coffeehouse at different locations throughout the archdiocese on Wednesday nights during Lent.
The series for single and married persons in their 20s and 30s begins each week with Mass, followed by a light Lenten dinner and a guest speaker. Holy Grounds concludes with coffee, dessert and fellowship. A $5 donation is suggested.
Holy Grounds began on Feb. 29 and will continue throughout March. Father Paul Moreau will give the talk on Wednesday, March 7, at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Woodstock. His theme is “You Can Run, But You Cannot Hide: Embracing the Value of the Lenten Sacrifice.”
“Halfway Through: Staying Strong During the Second Half of Lent” will be the focus of the third week of Holy Grounds, featuring Deacon Bill Garrett on Wednesday, March 14, at All Saints Church, Dunwoody. On March 21, Father Victor Galier will speak at St. Anthony of Padua, Atlanta, on “Living Lives of Solidarity Within the Body of Christ.”
The last Holy Grounds in March will be held on Wednesday, March 28, with a talk by Father Michael Silloway at the Cathedral of Christ the King, Atlanta. He will speak on “Good Friday: Crucified = Spousal Love.”
