Blessed Trinity, Holy Spirit Prep Runners Compete

In the Oct. 16 Nike-Fleet Feet Coach Wood Invitational at Gainesville College, Blessed Trinity sophomore Kate Beecham finished eighth on the cross country course and freshman Anna Gandolfo finished ninth with times of 20:00.60 and 20:01.80, respectively. Two other BT female runners cracked the top 20 as Bailey Willett finished 14th and Natalie Kile finished 17th. As a team the girls came in first place.

For the boys, Blessed Trinity senior Dylan Dimartino finished 15th with a time of 17:26.70. Also finishing in the top 25 were senior Kyle Marchuk at 22nd and sophomore Will Murray at 23rd. As a team the boys came in eighth place. Lakeside DeKalb High School finished in first place. Blessed Trinity will host the region cross country meet Thursday, Oct. 28.

Holy Spirit Preparatory School, Atlanta, competed in the region cross country meet in Hampton, Oct. 18. Hannah Meadows finished in first place for the second consecutive year. Angela Dale finished second and Carolyn Perez finished fifth. As a team the girls finished in first place with 50 points. On the boys side Ryan Doyle won his second region title. Thad Holden earned a sixth-place finish, Michael Agrippina finished eighth and Matt Markham finished ninth. The boys also captured first place as a team. Both boys and girls region championships are a first for the cross country program at Holy Spirit. The teams will compete in the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) state meet Saturday, Oct. 30.
