The eighth annual Scott’s Run, a 5K run and one-mile fun walk event sponsored by Catholic Charities Atlanta, will be held Saturday, Oct. 3, at Chastain Park.

The memorial fundraiser begins at 9 a.m. and benefits Catholic Charities’ children’s programs in honor of the late Scott Starratt. Starratt, a Marietta native and immigration officer, was known for his compassion for foreign children in need.

Registration starts at 7 a.m. Cost is $20 for runners and walkers and $30 for phantom runners. Family registration fees will be capped at $100 per family. Registration may also be completed online at www.active.com.

Awards will be presented to the first and second place male and female 5K runners in several age groups. All children under 10 who compete in the one-mile walk will receive a prize.
