Red Mass To Bring Together Judges, Magistrates
Published September 3, 2009
The 2009 Red Mass, held each year to pray for the courts and for justice, will be celebrated by Atlanta Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church.
Celebrated throughout the world and in Atlanta since 1995, the Red Mass provides an opportunity for judges and attorneys of all faiths to seek blessings over the administration of justice for all citizens. For the third consecutive year, Atlanta Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory, SLD, will preside over the service, which is sponsored by the St. Thomas More Society.
The Atlanta Chapter of the St. Thomas More Society will honor former Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Norman S. Fletcher and former Fulton County Juvenile Court Judge and Georgia Appleseed executive director Sharon Hill as part of the annual Red Mass celebration.
