Workshop To Educate On Faith, Public Policy

The Georgia Catholic Conference is hosting a three-hour workshop on Saturday, Sept. 19, to explore the church’s social teaching, the document “Faithful Citizenship” and current issues.
There will be small group discussions and presentations by leaders of the Atlanta Archdiocese, including Frank Mulcahy, the church’s chief lobbyist in the statehouse; Mary Boyert, the director of the Pro-Life Ministry; Susan Sullivan, director of Parish & Social Justice Ministries; and Pat Chivers, archdiocesan director of communications.
The workshop will take place at St. Thomas More Church, 636 W. Ponce de Leon Ave., Decatur. It begins at 9 a.m., and there is a $10 fee. It will end at noon.
Attendees will receive a copy of Pope Benedict XVI’s new encyclical Caritas in Veritate.
