Marist Retains Wrestling Championship

Marist School held onto its title as reigning Catholic Duals wrestling champion during the seventh annual tournament on its home mats Jan. 7. Teams from Blessed Trinity High School, Roswell, Our Lady of Mercy High School, Fairburn, and St. Pius X High School, Atlanta, faced off against each other and Marist. In a triple round of matches where the teams wrestled on adjacent mats, Marist defeated St. Pius 58-16 and Blessed Trinity defeated Our Lady of Mercy 81-0 in the first round. In the second round Marist defeated Blessed Trinity 36-27 and St. Pius defeated Our Lady of Mercy 72-9. In the final round Marist defeated Our Lady of Mercy 78-6 and Blessed Trinity defeated St. Pius 66-16. The tournament ended with Blessed Trinity in second place, St. Pius in third, and Our Lady of Mercy in fourth.
