Pinecrest Academy boys were defeated in the GISA-AA region final 83-77 by Christian Heritage School Feb. 15.

Pinecrest led by 8 at halftime after a fast start by team captain Mike Metz, who had 19 first half points. Metz finished the game with 38 points, followed by John Neiner and Brian Guhde with 13 and 11 points, respectively. John Drapeau had 7 blocked shots and 6 rebounds.

Christian Heritage had five players in double figures. Sophomore Damien Chaney led the way with 28 points.

This was the third meeting between the two schools and the second to go into overtime.

Pinecrest advances to the GISA-AA state tournament in Cuthbert, where they face Southwest Georgia Academy in the first round Feb. 21.
