Annual Appeal Poster Wins International Award
Published September 6, 2007
A poster promoting the 2007 archdiocesan Annual Appeal has been recognized with the International Catholic Stewardship Council’s Award for Excellence for materials in the category of Annual Appeal Poster.
The poster, which is centered around the theme “We Are the Hands of Christ,” based on the prayer of St. Teresa of Avila, was designed by archdiocesan creative director David Pace and featured photographs from Georgia Bulletin staff photographer Michael Alexander.
Christine Heusinger, coordinator for stewardship, will be present to accept the award on behalf of the archdiocese on Sunday, Sept. 23, during the opening session of the ICSC conference in Miami.
According to its Web site, each year the ICSC “recognizes dioceses and parishes who are ICSC members that have best promoted the theology of stewardship during the year. The various mediums used to teach and inform Catholic people about stewardship become ever more important as these mediums are shared through the ICSC exchange program.”
Heusinger said the award is an affirmation of the stewardship work the archdiocese is doing.
“I’m very excited about this because it shows that we’re on the correct path to making stewardship well known and a way of life, which is what my office is all about,” she said. “We try to remind people in the archdiocese and the parishes to remember that everything we have is gift and our response needs to be the disciples’ response—and that is stewardship.”
