St. Monica’s Invites Teens To Hear Jason Evert

Published February 8, 2007

St. Monica’s Respect Life Ministry and Youth Group invite teens in eighth grade and up to hear Jason Evert, nationally acclaimed Catholic chastity education speaker, give his “Romance Without Regret” talk.

Evert will speak on Tuesday, March 13, at 7 p.m. at St. Monica’s Church, 1700 Buford Highway, Duluth.

Father Jack Durkin, pastor, will celebrate Mass at 6 p.m. prior to Evert’s talk. St. Monica’s Youth Group invites all teens to join them for a reception following the talk. The talk is free of charge and open to the public. A free will offering will be taken to help with Evert’s international ministry.

Evert, who has spoken to teens at the archdiocesan Eucharistic Congress, is the author of six books including “If You Really Loved Me” and “Pure Love,” which challenge young people to embrace the virtue of chastity. He holds a master’s degree in theology and undergraduate degrees in counseling and theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville.

He and his wife, Crystalina, are full-time apologists with Catholic Answers, the nation’s largest lay-run apostolate for apologetics and evangelization. They speak to over 100,000 teens each year in Catholic, Christian, and public junior and senior high schools, as well as universities.

Evert’s talk in the archdiocese is a unique opportunity and youth groups are encouraged to attend. Groups of 10 or more must call and reserve space. Youth groups are also asked to consider making a donation to St. Monica’s Respect Life Ministry to help defray the cost of the many items that will be given free to the teens.
