Our Lady Of Mercy Extends Winning Streak

The varsity girls of Our Lady of Mercy High School, Fairburn, went 2-1 at the David Brainerd Christian School Invitational, Chattanooga, Tenn., Dec. 27-29. The team averaged 70 points per game in their two wins. Sophomore point guard Camille Thompson, who averaged 17 points, nearly 6 rebounds and 4 steals per game, was named to the All-Tournament team. Sophomore point guard and defensive specialist Raven Moore also added 13 points, nearly 6 steals and 4 assists per game.

In their first two games of 2007, Mercy defeated Pike County 62-49 and Eagles Landing Christian 54-42. Junior center Alex Miles had 30 rebounds over the two games, and Moore combined for 34 points in the same two games. Mercy (8-5) travels to Atlanta to takes on W.D. Mohammed High School on Friday, Jan. 12, and they return home on Saturday, Jan. 13, to face Greenforest Christian Academy, Decatur.
