Parish ‘More Fest’ Offers Races, Games, Food

On Saturday, Oct. 14, the parish community of St. Thomas More in Decatur will hold its annual More Fest, with fun and fellowship from start to finish.
The celebration begins with the 18th annual road race and fun run; registration is at 7:30 a.m. and race time is 8:30 a.m. A flea market of bargains and treasures will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. From 12 noon to 4 p.m. the festival kicks into high gear with carnival games, moonwalks, bingo, cake walk, and food that ranges from snacks and treats to international cuisine and barbeque chicken dinners.
Proceeds from this year’s More Fest will be shared among the parish, St. Thomas More School, the Hagar House shelter in Decatur, and a Gulf Coast parish recovering from Hurricane Katrina.
