Calling All Volunteers For The Eucharistic Congress
Published May 5, 2005
Sue Stubbs, the volunteer coordinator for this year’s Eucharistic Congress, is looking for many dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers to help out at this event, which brings over 20,000 attendees to the Georgia International Convention Center.
The assistance of a great number of people is always required, as the event is quite large and put on entirely by volunteers and employees of the archdiocese.
Assistance is requested for all or part of the events on Friday and Saturday, June 3-4.
As an incentive, volunteers will receive a free Eucharistic Congress volunteer polo shirt, made by Land’s End and sold for more than $40 at the Congress.
To volunteer, go to the archdiocesan Web site and complete the online form at www.archatl.com/congress/2005/volunteer_form.htm.
For those preferring to mail in the form rather than completing the online form, a PDF version of the form is also available online.
Stubbs notes that she will notify volunteers if more forms must be completed to comply with the Archdiocese of Atlanta Safe Environment policy and program.
After all forms have been completed, a final confirmation will be sent, which will confirm volunteer eligibility, volunteer position and who to report to the day of the Congress.
Training for volunteers will be held at the Georgia International Convention Center on Thursday, June 2, from 5:30 – 9 p.m. Volunteers who have not completed the Safe Environment Training for the archdiocese will be able to complete the training that night.
