DIRECTOR OF STEWARDSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT – OFFICE OF MISSION ADVANCEMENT, ARCHDIOCESE OF ATLANTA

The Office of Mission Advancement of the Archdiocese of Atlanta has an immediate opening for a full-time Director of Stewardship and Development. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, the Director of Stewardship and Development is part of the leadership team, along with the Director of Operations, that is responsible for promoting and executing the mission and vision of the archdiocese by creating the necessary programs, processes and solutions engaging various constituencies to be part of the work of the archdiocese. The Director of Stewardship and Development is responsible for helping to establish a state-of-the-art fundraising and development department by building dynamic and state-of-the-art business processes and solutions. In addition, the Director will develop, direct and coordinate comprehensive programs that identify potential major donors and sponsors for the archdiocese. This position will help develop fundraising strategies to support the financial needs of parishes, schools and ministries affiliated with the archdiocese. The Director will oversee and work with the team responsible for designing, implementing and promoting the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal. The Director will also serve as a consultant to all parishes concerning stewardship training and education curriculum and develop a well-functioning support model to assist parishes and schools in various fundraising efforts, including capital campaigns. The Director will manage and supervise office functions, support staff, interact with other archdiocesan staff members and develop and administer the department’s budget. Qualified candidates include: College graduate with a bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, management or a related field; experienced leader with at least five years in successful fundraising and marketing; previous work experience should include successful communication ability with particular emphasis on speaking and presentation skills; experience working with organizations with a hierarchical structure and multiple locations diverse in geography and constituency. Must possess knowledge of donor or customer management systems such as Raisers Edge and demonstrated ability/capacity for networking. Must be computer literate with strong skills in Word, Excel, e-mail systems and other appropriate programs.
