ATLANTA—Reach for Excellence, an independent program of the Society of Mary hosted at Marist School, has received a grant from The Goizueta Foundation to support students through high school.

This funding includes SAT and ACT preparation, tutoring, assistance with private high school fees, and support for pre-college summer programs for students.

The grant also supports academic enrichment for Reach for Excellence middle school students. In addition to funding the Program Coordinator position, which improves communication with students and families,

The three-year grant provides a permanent substitute teacher for the five-week summer sessions and funds a third-party evaluation. To enhance the middle school curriculum, the grant funds updates to the Reach Math, Data, and Study Skills materials.

It also provides SSAT preparation classes, which low-income middle school students typically cannot access, which puts them at a disadvantage in private high school admissions.

The awarding of this generous grant coincides with the 25th Anniversary of Reach for Excellence.

Reach for Excellence is a 26-month, tuition-free educational enrichment program for Atlanta area low-income middle school students. Reach focuses on preparing students for college-preparatory high school programs that will keep them on the path to college and beyond.
