AUGUSTA—A graduate of Pinecrest Academy made a guest appearance with the Augusta Symphony for its Symphonic Dances concert on May 9.   

Evelyn Fuentes is an up-and-coming musician whose talent earned her the privilege to share the stage with the symphony.    

She performed the “Glazunov Concerto” for alto saxophone under Maestro Dirk Meyer’s conducting, accompanied by the orchestra. She received the 2025 Youth Concerto Competition award, which earned her the opportunity to perform   

Evelyn Fuentes, a graduate of Pinecrest Academy, performed with the Augusta Symphony.

“I had the most amazing experience performing with the Augusta Symphony. Being surrounded by so many hardworking and talented professional musicians was beyond inspiring, and I am so grateful to them for the kindness they showed me during that weekend. Performing with Augusta was the best debut I could have asked for, and I hope to perform in a similar capacity very soon,” she wrote in an email.  

It’s one of many accolades she received during high school. Fuentes will continue studies in saxophone performance at Northwestern University.
