Weekend woes for Blessed Trinity softball

Published September 21, 2017

ROSWELL–Blessed Trinity High School’s softball team faced two opponents at home, Sept. 16, that are pretty challenging competitors on the road: Woodstock’s River Ridge High School and Marietta’s Pope High School.

In the second inning of the first game against River Ridge, Blessed Trinity scored the first run on an RBI double by junior third baseman Ansley Biggs. In the third inning River Ridge scored three runs on two doubles and two singles to take a 3-1 lead. From that point on, River Ridge never relinquished the lead and went on to defeat Blessed Trinity 13-3.

In the second game against Pope, senior Raegan Lehman was the starting pitcher for Blessed Trinity. Lehman also went four for four at the plate with an RBI. They also got offensive support from Biggs and sophomore shortstop DeAnna Berry. Pope capitalized to take an early lead, forcing Blessed Trinity to play from behind and handing Blessed Trinity its second loss of the day 12-7.
