St. Pius X Announces Christmas Classic Tournament

The sixth annual “Christmas Classic Basketball Tournament” sponsored by St. Pius X High School will be held Dec. 27-29 at the school.
The tournament draws boys and girls varsity basketball teams from across the country to play in this holiday season event. In a short amount of time, the St. Pius X “Christmas Classic” has grown to become one of the premier high school basketball tournaments in the country.
Boys teams participating in this year’s tournament in addition to St. Pius X are:
Our Lady of Mercy High School, Fairburn; Archbishop Alter High School, Kettering, Ohio; Belen Jesuit Prep School, Miami, Fla.; Bishop Kenny High School, Jacksonville, Fla.; Bishop Verot High School, Fort Myers, Fla.; Servite High School, Anaheim, Calif.; and Villa Maria Academy, Erie, Pa.
Girls teams participating in this year’s tournament in addition to St. Pius X are:
Archbishop Carroll High School, Washington, D.C.; Pope John Paul II High School, Boca Raton, Fla.; St. Vincent’s Academy, Savannah; Bishop Kenny High School, Jacksonville, Fla.; Tampa Catholic High School, Tampa, Fla.; Catherine McAuley High School, Portland, Maine; and Bishop Verot High School, Fort Myers, Fla.
Games have start times of 2 p.m. through 8 p.m. each day. The Monsignor Lopez Championship Trophy will be awarded to the winning boys and girls teams of the tournament immediately following the final game on Dec. 29. Tickets will be sold at the door for $5.
