This year National Signing Day and Ash Wednesday shared the same date on the calendar. Like many athletes around the country, local Catholic high school seniors made it official when they signed binding national letters of intent to play collegiate sports at the college or university of their choice. Here’s a list of where some of the young athletes will be heading:

Garrett Jack will attend the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo. Ben Kopacka will attend the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo.

Marist School, Atlanta

Joe Bailey will attend the United States Military Academy at West Point, West Point, N.Y. Les Bolden will attend Centre College, Danville, Ky. Derek Heyden will attend Georgia Southern University, Statesboro. Jordan Phillips will attend Amherst College, Amherst, Mass. Brian Saulino will attend Centre College, Danville, Ky. Neil Schuster will attend Columbia University, New York, N.Y. Cooper Taylor will attend the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta.

Pinecrest Academy, Cumming

Michael Boulanger will attend Wingate University, Wingate, N.C.

St. Pius X High School, Atlanta

Kent Cleveland will attend Kent State University, Kent, Ohio. Chris Philpott will attend the University of Louisville, Louisville, Ky. Richard Taylor will attend Bucknell University, Lewisburg, Pa.
