Teacher wins Georgia Credit Union scholarship for continuing ed

ATLANTA—The Georgia United Credit Union announced the winner of the Archbishop Emeritus John Francis Donoghue Scholarship for Continuing Education, Kathryn Ledlie of Atlanta, first-grade teacher at Christ the King School. This scholarship is named for the late Archbishop John Francis Donoghue, who was a strong advocate of Catholic education and credit union services. Since the inception of the Archbishop Donoghue Scholarship in 2006, the Georgia United Credit Union has donated $25,000 in support of Catholic education.

Ledlie, who received a $2,500 scholarship for continuing education coursework, is currently enrolled in the master of education program at Mercer University, with a reading specialist concentration.

The Georgia United Credit Union has more than 150,000 members and 19 branch locations.
