‘Sowing the Seeds of Hope’ theme of ecumenical gathering

Published February 23, 2017

ATLANTA—The Catholic-Orthodox Ecumenical Gathering will be Monday, March 6, at 7 p.m. at the Cathedral of Christ the King, 2699 Peachtree Road, NE, Atlanta.

Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory and His Eminence Alexios, Greek Orthodox Metropolitan of Atlanta, will officiate. The keynote speaker will be Deacon Steve Swope on behalf of Catholic Relief Services. Deacon Swope is a CRS Global Fellow and serves at St. George Church in Newnan.

The theme of the gathering is “Sowing the Seeds of Hope: The Plight of Refugees and Migrants.” All are welcome to attend.

Because the gathering takes place in Lent, there will be a meet and greet after the gathering in the foyer outside of Kenny Hall in lieu of a reception. Those attending are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to be distributed to the poor.
